KONG - Squeezz Ball - Strong Squeaky Dog Toy

The KONG Squeezz Ball closely resembles the shape of a tennis ball. We all know tennis balls don’t last with dogs, especially aggressive chewers, so here comes Kong to the rescue.

The King squeaky toy is made of tough rubber, and it is effortless to clean after use. It is intended for both outdoor and indoor use, as well as training and interactive play. It is ideal for both large and small breeds, and it tends to outlast most dog toys on the market today.

The Squeezz Ball has a very convenient opening in the center where you can use it with a rope or a launcher. It also comes in three different sizes – Medium, Large, and Extra Large. The difference between each size is just 1cm – the smallest one is 6cm, while the biggest one is 8cm.

The KONG brand has a solid reputation among dog owners and lovers and is known to produce excellent quality toys that are made to last. You can’t go wrong with a Kong toy, and the Squeezz Ball is a prime example of that.

Pros

  • Durable material
  • Squeak works even when the toy is punctured
  • Solid brand reputation
  • Affordable price

Cons

  • Concerns about fake products

Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Squeak Ball

he Orbee-Tuff is one of the best squeaky dog toys for aggressive chewers. There is a reason why it is rated amongst the best dog toys by Whole Dog Journal too – it is just a great product.

The Planet Dog product is ideal for any type of play with your canine friend – fetch, chasing, retrieving and more. It is perfectly suitable for training as well.

The Orbee-Tuff squeaky ball is the first manufacturer to implement a squeaker that isn’t attached to the ball with glue or any type of adhesive, making it 100% non-toxic. It is made of fully recyclable materials for the environmentally-minded people.

The ball floats excellent, too, making ideal pool party companion. You can throw it in lakes also – great for lake dives and beach romps.

Chase N Chomp Amazing Squeaker Ball for Pets

The Chase N Chomp Amazing squeaker ball has more than a few things going for it. It is floatable, squeaky, and it is two balls in one. How cool is that?

The Squeaker ball is made of rubber substance that tends to withstand even the most aggressive chewers. Of course, it isn’t an indestructible toy, but it tends to outlast the competition in more than a few occasions, and it is built to last.

The squeaker ball comes in three sizes – small, medium and large. The smallest one is 1.5”, the medium is 2.5” and the large is 3.5”. Be careful not to give a toy that is too small to a large dog breed as it can ingest it easily and cause stomach issues.

The only issue with the Chase N Chomp Squeaky dog toy is the squeaker. It tends to wear off prematurely, and there are more than a few complaints online of it stopping to squeak too early.

Pros

  • Very affordable price
  • Two balls in one
  • Long-lasting
  • Ideal for large breeds
  • Floatable

Cons

  • Squeaker not reliable
  • No info about the material toxicity
  • Swallowing danger for extra-large canines

Gnawsome Medium Squeaker Ball Dog Toy

Gnawsome is another popular brand in the canine community. The name strikes a chord too – they are really awesome for gnawing, and the Squeaker Ball dog toy is no different.

The Squeaker Ball toy is great for dogs in more than one way. It is built to massage your best friend’s gum while it is enjoying chewing on the ball. The spiky design eliminates any chances of choking – it is completely safe even for larger canines.

The squeaky toy is made of food-grade material that has proven itself in durability. Squeaky dog toys made by Gnawsome are amongst the best on the market today. The Squeaker Ball is made of BPA-free rubber that is ideal for aggressive chewers.

Pros

  • BPA-Free material
  • No choking hazard
  • Ideal for small dogs
  • Proven brand

Cons

  • Tends to stop squeaking quickly

PERSUPER 3.6 Inch Durable Pet Dog Balls

The PERSUPER 3.6 Inch Durable Pet Dog Ball is suitable for most breeds and sizes. The unique thing about it its shape – it is not a regular ball. It has these bumps all over, allowing it to take your dog by surprise with every bounce.

The indestructible squeaky dog ball is made of food-grade rubber that is safe and non-toxic to your dog. It comes in a pack of two, so for the price of one ball, you get two – great value for sure.

The pack also includes two extra squeakers in case the original ones die quickly – which they do from time to time. The added benefit is that you’ll have some spare if your canine goes through them a bit too quickly for your liking.

Overall the PERSUPER is a solid product that doesn’t disappoint. While there are some concerns about its durability, it should last a fair amount of time with a non-aggressive chewer.

Pros

  • Comes with extra squeakers
  • Irregular shape - it bounces around
  • Food-grade Rubber
  • Reasonably priced

Cons

  • Not as durable as the rest on this list
  • Squeakers don’t last either

How To Choose The Best Squeaky Dog Toys For Your Needs?

Let’s see how we can help you choose the best toys for your particular needs. It might be a good idea to have a read below and see if you can spot any potential issues that you might have. Also, dog toys are heavily dependant on the size and type of dog you have, and there rarely is a one-fit-for-all solution.

Dog Size Matters

You have to be really careful with your choice of squeaky dog toys depending on the dog you have. I’m not trying to scare you or anything, but a toy too small for a big dog might mean that it will swallow it. A trip to the vet is not fun for either of you, so it is always best to choose accordingly.

On the other hand, a toy too big for a small dog will mean that the little fella won’t be able to enjoy it at all.

Squeaky Toys For Different Dog Breeds

As we all know, no dog breeds are alike. Some prefer to lay lazily on the couch while others (cough cough Jack Russel) tend to be like one of those Duracell bunnies – a never ending source of energy.

Your choice of squeaky dog toy won’t matter as much for a lazy dog – it just doesn’t get as much playtime as we’d like it to. However, for an energetic canine, always prefer a toy that can be thrown, launched, and even floats – you’ll get a lot more varied play activities with your best friend.

Large dog breeds should have squeaky toys specifically designed for large breeds. As we mentioned above, they can destroy them fairly quickly, so for large breeds like Labradors, German Shepherds, and such always look into indestructible dog toys. You can see in the video below how quickly a 90 lb Pitbull can go through a squeaky toy:

Toys For Aggressive Chewers

The above point is valid for aggressively chewing dogs as well. You have to be careful with them as they tend to gnaw through even the most durable dog toys out there.

Always choose indestructible toys for aggressive chewers. Simple latex or plastic won’t work – you need squeaky toys specifically designed for your toy-shredding friend.

Materials – Rubber, Plastic, Latex, etc…

This is probably the most important section – the choice of material. Not all dog toys are made the same, so always look into their toxicity rating.

BPA-Free and non-toxic alternatives are always available, so it is not worth selecting a toxic or inferior products to save a few bucks here and there. Your furry friend’s health should always be first. Never give your dog toys that are not 100% toxic-free and always make sure the product is from a reputable, and it is FDA approved.

Consider Silent Alternatives

Yes, I know this whole article is about the best squeaky dog toys, I know. We all know that the constant squeak can quickly become a nuisance, especially with small children and babies around.

The ability to take the squeak out of the toy is priceless if you have a sleeping baby, for example, or you don’t want to disturb your neighbors. Some of the best toys come with replaceable squeakers, so if you think you might have a problem with the noise, opt-in for a toy with a replaceable squeak.

Last but not least, some dogs hate squeaky toys. Others are scared of them, so the option to silence the ball if needed is priceless, especially if you’re buying a gift for a dog you don’t quite know well.

Recap

It can be increasingly frustrating to keep buying squeaky dog toys that don’t last more than a few minutes. I’ve been there, and I can feel your pain. That’s the sole reason I created a lost of the best squeaky dog toys – to help you choose the best squeaker for your needs and your furry companion.

By far, my favorite is the Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff squeaky ball. It is a proven performer from a reputable company. It comes in three sizes – small, medium, and large, and they are suitable for most dog breeds and sizes. The Orbee is super tough and durable, and it has all the bells and whistles a good dog toy should have – it is floatable, suitable for most types of play, and it is nearly indestructible. It is also 100% toxic-free, BPA-free, and has no harmful chemicals. On top of that, it is proudly made in the USA – who can argue with that?

The KONG Squeezz Ball is the runner up here, but I spotted quite a few references to non-genuine KONG products. Also, there were reports of the ball being shredded too quickly by overly aggressive chewers, so if your dog is one, it’s best to avoid the Squeezz Ball altogether – it just won’t last long.
