Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush Product Review

The Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush is one of the best brushes out there, made by one of the most popular dog care companies.

How to Use

This isn’t just a regular dog brush – it has a self-cleaning feature that many brushes don’t have. To use this self-cleaning brush, follow these instructions:

  1. Bush the button on the back of the brush when you’re ready to brush your dog’s fur. This extends the bristles out of the brush.
  2. Once the button has been pressed, you can let go. There’s no need to keep hold of the button when brushing.
Brush your dog’s fur, starting at the head, brushing in the direction of hair growth.
  3. When you’re finished brushing, press the button again to retract the bristles back into the brush.
  4. The action of retracting the bristles slides all excess fur off the brush, making it so much easier getting the fur out the brush – especially if you’re got a super fluffy dog.

Comfort

The Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush is not just comfortable for your dog – it’s comfortable for the user (you) too.

The bristles are super smooth on your dog’s fur and aren’t likely to get bent or broken at all.

As the bristles retreat back into the brush when they’re not being used, they’re unlikely to break in storage or during transport.

It can be hard to find the balance between comfort and effectiveness, but Hertzko has certainly mastered it with the Self Cleaning Slicker Brush.

The bristles are gentle enough to not hurt your pet but hard enough to increase the blood circulation around your dog’s body.

This brush boasts a comfort grip and ergonomically designed handle, to prevent hand and wrist strain (which can be bad after brushing matted for half an hour!).

You can brush your dog for however long he needs and not have to worry about hurting your hands and wrist.

The handle is also super strong, so it isn’t likely to snap or break any time soon.

The last thing you want when you’re halfway through brushing your dog’s fur is for the brush to break.

There’s a thumb rest on the handle too, which makes it even more comfortable to hold. Thumb fatigue is real, and Hertzko has found a way to prevent it.

Performance

This slicker brush works amazingly, collecting dead fur, untangling knots and increasing blood circulation, leaving your dog’s fur soft and shiny.

The bristles can quickly and easily detangle mats and knots, but please note that more severe mats may require extra work.

This brush does more than just make your dog look well-groomed – it also works on the undercoat, which can hugely reduce the amount of fur your dog sheds.

Especially when brushing long-haired dogs, it can be a difficult task removing the excess fur from the brush.

The self-cleaning feature is perfect for getting rid of those hairs deep inside the brush, which is usually really difficult to remove.

Summary

Your dog will not only look great but will feel great after using the Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush. Some dogs hate being brushed, but your dog will love being brushed with the Hertzko Slicker.

As well as removing dirt and dead fur, the sensation of the bristles will feel like a massage on your dog’s skin, and increase circulation, leaving your pet’s fur soft and shiny.

It’s not just your dog that will benefit from the brush. You’ll love it too, and it should help strengthen the bond between you and your furry friend.
