Introduction

Just like us, dog’s get bored and need to stay stimulated for their physical and mental needs.

A bored dog can very quickly become a destructive dog, and sometimes a chew toy alone won’t cut it.

Interactive dog toys are better for stimulating your dog’s mind, and they can play with them without you there! It’s better to leave your dog with an interactive dog toy when you leave for work in the morning, as opposed to just a regular chew toy.

StarMark has been providing quality dog toys, training and education for dogs for over a decade. The Bob-A-Lot Interactive Dog Toy is both fun interactive, and will keep your dog occupied for hours on end.

Keep reading for our review of the Bob-A-Lot by Starmark, including a list of features, and the pros and cons of the toy.

StarMark Bob-A-Lot Interactive Dog Toy Product Review

The Bob-A-Lot Interactive Dog Toy is another one of StarMark’s popular products, and there’s a reason so many dog owners are buying it.

StarMark is one of the leading brands in pet training, education, and toys, and the Bob-A-Lot has been tested by experts. For assurance that it’s effective, it’s also been performance tested by thousands of dogs at the StarMark Academy Behavior Center.

Design

The Bob-A-Lot comes in two sizes; small and large. If you have anything larger than a labrador, then it’s recommended you opt for the large option.

The large option can fit a whole meal’s worth of kibble or treats, so is a perfect alternative to a feeding bowl if your dog is a fast eater and you want to slow down mealtimes.

This toy is designed to help prevent destructive behaviors that are a result of boredom, so if your dog is likely to chew the sofa or dig holes in the carpets when you’re not in the room, then this toy is definitely an option.

At the bottom of the toy, there’s an anti-slip feature. This is perfect if your dog is forever losing toys under sofas and chairs – it will wobble about but won’t go flying across the floor.

Fun Factor

If you find that your dog is getting the treats in seconds, or is looking a bit bored, then don’t stress! You can easily make the puzzle a bit more difficult by adjusting the openings, making it harder to retrieve the treats.

The smaller the size of the opening, the harder it will be for your dog to knock a bit of kibble out of the toy. I’d recommend you begin with large openings, so you can see how easily your dog can get the treats. Then, simply adjust the size of the openings according to your dog’s skill level.

The weighted bottom ensures that no matter how much throwing and rocking the toy experiences, it should always stay upright. It will wobble and bobble for hours until there are no treats left.

The wobbling motion is sure to keep your dog occupied and entertained, even if there are no treats left in the chamber!

Cleaning

This toy should be cleaned in warm, soapy, and isn’t suited to the dishwasher. Some users complain that it can be difficult to clean due to the various openings and the chamber being enclosed, but with the right tools, it will be clean in no time.

If you have a pipe cleaner cleaning device, use that in the crevices to remove any leftover crumbs (if your dog hasn’t got them already!).

The StarMark toy has a screw top, so unscrew the top and just submerge the toy in warm and soapy water, and give it a swill around.

Summary

StarMark certainly knows what they’re doing when it comes to keeping dogs entertained, and the Bob-A-Lot Interactive Dog Toy is the perfect example of this.

Whether you’re leaving your dog alone for a few hours and you need a fun toy to keep him occupied, or if your dog is a greedy boy who eats his meals in seconds, this toy is definitely an affordable solution to your problem.

The well designed, durable toy should keep your dog entertained for hours on end, and at such an affordable price, what have you got to lose?
